The back garden
The allotment area, outdoor workshop, two sheds and greenhouse were combined into a single garden.

The back fence
Erecting a fence on the boundary created a respectable dog run and seasonal stream.

Side Border
The side border was planted in December 2005 with perennial shrubs including: -
Aquilegia, Bay, Buddleia, Ceanothus, Clematis, Euphorbia, Forsythia, Heather, Hebe, Hellebore, Hibiscus,
Lavender, Leycesteria, Magnolia, Mahonia, Passion Flower, Pieris, Ribes, Rhododendron, Rosemary

The side border has a south facing un-shaded aspect and has turned into a jungle in no time at all.
Drive Border
The shed and drive borders were planted in July 2006.
Broom, Ceanothus, Escallonia, Euphorbia, Forsythia, Heather, Hellebore, Lilac, Pieris, Ribes, Viburnum

The lollipop fir trees create an extremely dry and shady environment where many plants have struggled to survive.
Two of the four trees were removed in November 2009 due to the excessive amount of leaf drop during the dry summer.
Back Border
The back fence was put in in August 2006, and the back border was planted up shortly afterwards.
Astilbe, Berberis, Ceanothus, Clematis, Escallonia, Fuchsia, Hebe, Hellebore, Honeysuckle, Kerria Japonica, Lavender, Leycestria, Pieris, Ribes, Rhododendron, Skimmia, Viburnum

The back border is partly shaded and has patches of very poor soil quality where outbuildings used to be located.
Front Garden
The front garden was turfed and planted in August 2007.
Acer, Aquilegia, Azalea, Ceanothus, Crinodendron, Hebe, Hellebore, Hydrangea, Pieris, Rhododendron, Viburnum

The front garden is a morning sun trap with lovely loamy soil.
